Charmouth Beach (West)

This stretch of Beach is mixed with ledges, boulders and sand. Parts of this beach can be fished at low tide, but most is fished better 2 hours either side of high tide.

It is quite a shallow beach, but it’s mixed sea bed attracts many different types of fish. But because this is a shallower beach it doesn’t tend to fish well during the colder winter months.

If you venture too far along, the sea will come right up to the base of the cliffs, so we recommend visiting the beach to view how the tide affects it before you plan a fishing trip. The cliffs can also be quite unstable, so care must be taken to avoid standing under areas prone to cliff falls.
