Axmouth Beach

The stretch of beach South of the Harbour can produce some good sized Bass, especially right on the river mouth with float fished baits or lures along with the usual big Mackerel and Squid baits.

One of the most popular marks on this beach is directly in front of the sailing club building, it has a slightly mixed seabed becoming increasingly more snaggy the further East you go, and cleaner more sandy towards the West.

This Mark is bit of a nursery ground which can be good for a number of species throughout the year, but big specimen fish apart from the Bass through the summer and whiting in the winter, are seldom seen.
